Stride (One of the STR Group of Companies) are currently working on behalf of a client to recruit for the following position:
Company: Large Housing Association
Job title: Plumber /Multi-trader
Salary: £22,000 – £25,000 per annum plus benefits (Dependant on experience)
Location: Barking, Essex, IG11
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Contract type: Permanent

Our client are one of the largest housing associations in southern England and has a well-established reputation as a successful business with social objectives. They provide housing of all different types of customers who live in there 30,000 properties.
Ideally you would be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plumbing & Heating.

Your day to day responsibilities as a Plumber will involve visiting residents in their homes and carrying out minor repairs in an effective and efficient manner. You will be required to create good rapport with all residents and colleagues with the minimal amount of inconvenience to the occupancy.

You will be professional, polite and courteous to instil confidence and have credibility with residents. It is imperative that the successful applicant has great communication skills.

Skills our client is looking for from the successful candidate:

Full driving licence required. As a vehicle will be provided.
Good knowledge / awareness of Health and Safety Issues.
Ability to organise workload in a methodical way for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
Communication skills – listening, openness and responsiveness to all customer and client situations.
Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
Be self-motivated.
Be honest, trustworthy and conscientious.
Team Working.
Commitment to equal opportunities
Willing to work evening or weekends given reasonable notice.
Willing to be included in the emergency call out rota.
Ability to assess the risks associated with lone working and other health and safety hazards associated with the technical nature of the job.
Ability to communicate and report unassessed risks to others.
The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
