HS&E Technical Risk Management & Control Business Partner – Swindon – £33,000 – Engineering & Manufacturing

A world leading automotive manufacturer is going through significant growth of the Health, Safety and Environment department activities, a superb opportunity has arisen to join their business as a HS&E Technical Risk Management & Control Business Partner on a permanent basis. This is a brand-new position therefore is a superb opportunity for the right candidate.

Within this manufacturing plant they are responsible for EU application of the fire and explosion evaluation method and establishing a factory by factory cross verification programme. Site wide equipment safety verification now falls under HS&E to manage, scope and covers PUWER, DSEAR and Fire.

This role will support the division in the delivery of these increased inspection and evaluation activities and work alongside the existing coordinator to ensure compliance now and in the future.

The successful applicant will be required to do occasional overtime.

Main responsibilities:

You will support the HSE Manager and be the coordinator of the PUWER (machinery safety) programme at the site and the cross verification programme across the EU region
Involvement at design and project evaluation stages in support of HS&E Engineering manager
Evaluate status against and enforce HS&E standards with regards to Equipment safety (Mechanical, Electrical, hydraulic, Pneumatic etc…)
Implementation of technical risk evaluation through in-house risk assessment or supervision of 3rd party specialist assessments e.g. DSEAR
Fulfil business partner role for the Engine & Production Support division and fully support their HS&E representatives
Support wider departmental responsibilities including delivery of inspections, safety assurance visits and internal HS&E audits

To be considered for the position of HS&E Technical Risk Management & Control Business Partner you must:

Have effective Planning and organisational skills
Experience of introducing best practise in engineering projects
Demonstrable communication skills with all levels
Effective leadership skills and a proven team player
Background in Health, Safety and Environment
Broad Understanding of HS&E technical Legislation
Applicable Engineering Qualification (Mechanical/ Electrical)
Applicable technical safety qualification (machinery Safety / PUWER)
NEBOSH (Certificate level) in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
