Head of Audit & Consultancy – Health & Safety Hammersmith – £55,000 – £60,000
A large Health & Safety specialist is looking for a Head of Audit & Consultancy to join their business. This is a brand-new position therefore would be a superb challenge for the selected candidate. The appointed person will take full responsibility for Audit & Consultancy, identifying new commercial opportunities, and ensuring the products meet current and future market / customer needs. You will also ensure that the audit and consultancy portfolio of products and services are developed, maintained and modified based on a sound understanding of markets (UK and International) and competitive offerings, and as informed by the Policy & Technical Director, are developed in accordance with relevant and leading technical requirements and standards.

The Head of Audit and Consultancy will also take responsibility for the audit and consultancy product and service development and roll-out process and ensure that audit and consultancy products and services are delivered to the highest possible standards.

Duties and key responsibilities

Prepare and manage product development strategies and plans in conjunction with sales/marketing/delivery to maintain/enhance/extend future revenue streams.
Maintain the individual products within the portfolio to ensure (i) delivery methods and working practices are efficient (ii) future revenue streams are maximised
Establish tracking and reporting systems for all relevant products and services, to ensure management information relating to performance can be included within relevant metrics and reports.

Person Specification

Skills & Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Breadth and depth of understanding of the health and safety sector and issues (including Health & Wellbeing)
Knowledge of ‘best practice’ audit tools and techniques
Strong financial literacy skills
Relevant Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental Qualification(s)
Evidence of strong IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Excel
Evidence of strong verbal and written influencing and communication skills

NEBOSH (or equivalent) Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or first or post-graduate degree in health and safety
Understanding of Environmental and wider risk management issues
Lead auditor qualification

Understanding of audit processes
Understanding of Health & Safety
P&L responsibility
Experience of managing budgets
Evidence of securing effective outcomes through lobbying, research and advocacy activities

Demonstrable experience of safety management systems application and management (5 years)
Experience of auditing and tutoring in the health and safety sector
Experience of managing a remote team in consultancy based organisation
Experience of managing and supporting projects
