Contracts Supervisor – £36,699 + Benefits Bristol Full Time Permanent Housing

A client of mine has a great opportunity for a Contracts Supervisor to join our their Newly formed Planned Works Team in Bristol, in a varied full-time role.

The client is bringing all their trades in house therefore as a Contracts Supervisor you will lead a team of trades staff who complete property maintenance, refurbishment work and kitchen and bathroom planned installations to a portfolio of homes and elsewhere in accordance to work schedules.

Within this role you will efficiently manage building contracts for the company, ensuring the works are completed to the standard required within the programme period and to an agreed budget. Also ensuring that all works are delivered in line with Health and Safety legislation

Main responsibilities

To recruit and be responsible for management, motivation, performance, training and support of staff.

Assist the Contracts Manager to ensure that the P&L (Profit & Loss) of assigned contracts are delivered in-line with the budget expectations.

To manage and motivate employees and sub contracted staff to ensure that works are completed both in an efficient manner and in accordance with the agreed programme.

To liaise effectively with the client’s representative and work colleagues as necessary with regard to any matters, both through formal and informal meetings.

To ensure that all matters relating to health and safety issues are addressed including ensuring that all works are carried out in a safe manner, and in compliance with all current legislation and regulations. To ensure that method statements and risk assessments are prepared and issued as required. To ensure that all information with regard to health and safety is produced, including all necessary information for the health and safety file and other relevant CDM information.

Ensure that contracts are delivered in line with all of SPC policies and procedures, including ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management system.

To ensure that all works are completed within agreed timescales and standards as reflected in Key Performance Indicators. To undertake quality assurance checks by random samplings as required by the managed contract
Managing planned maintenance contracts, ensuring works are completed within timescales and budget;
Managing a team of trade staff who are responsible for delivering quality repair, installations and maintenance works;

Essential Experience

You’ll need to be able to demonstrate experience of contract management and working in a supervisory/management position.
You’ll also need a good working knowledge of building and construction including building regulations and health and safety including CDM regulations.
It is essential that you hold a valid driving licence and are willing to take part in supervising the 24-hour callout rota.
